Mapping tech provider Remix is becoming part of the growing
Via
platform of mobility tools for cities and public authorities.
Terms were initially undisclosed but Via confirms the deal is for $100 million.
U.S.-based Remix, formed in 2014, creates planning technology and systems for public transit services, shared mobility brands and network design.
Via says the acquisition will add to its portfolio of services, including multimodal planning, scheduling and software for operations of on-demand and establish route transit systems.
The deal marks the end of an surprisingly busy year for the company since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The U.S.-based business
secured a $200 million Series E investment round in March last year
and
bought Fleetonomy in November
for an undisclosed free.
That acquisition came as Via said it had seen the need for essential transit services and goods delivery grow due to the pandemic.
Via co-founders Daniel Ramot and Oren Shoval say in a statement: "We share a vision for working alongside our partners to create transit systems that are equitable, accessible, and efficient for riders and cities alike.
"Together [with Remix], we have ambitious plans to invest in and expand the Remix product suite to offer enhanced capabilities for planning and bus scheduling and operations."
Via has now raised almost $600 million across five rounds.
