Operto Guest Technologies
will use a Series A funding round of $12 million to embark on a expansion program on multiple fronts.
The investment was led by FUSE, with WatchFire Venturers, BlackPines Capital Partners and others participating.
It is second major strategic move for Operto following the
appointment of Steve Davis as CEO in October 2020
, replacing co-founder Michael Driedger.
The Canada-based company expanded its portfolio of services into distribution and operations management with the
acquisition of VRScheduler
in June 2021.
Operto will use the investment - it's first publicly disclosed round - to further develop its Connect operation system, as well as expand into other accommodation verticals and countries.
The company specializes in property automation software, including Internet Of Things-type services such as digital cards, smart locks and mobile apps for guests to handle their bookings and associated services.
Hosts use the company's tools to organize housekeeping, maintenance and guest access, alongside other property services.
Davis says: "Now is the right time to double-down on our growth plans, and working alongside our new incredible partners at FUSE, Watchfire and with our broader investor consortium, will allow us to build on this momentum. 2022 is going to be another year of record growth, and the incredible team we have built here in Vancouver is ready to grab this unique opportunity with both hands, and run with it.”
